Vinnova

Vinnova is Sweden's innovation agency. Their mission is to strengthen Sweden's innovative capacity and contribute to sustainable growth, working to ensure that Sweden is an innovative force in a sustainable world.

Vinnova, the Swedish Agency for Innovation Systems, is tasked with providing sustainable growth by advancing Swedish innovation systems across various sectors including technology, transportation, communications, and workplace environments. They achieve this by providing funding for research projects that address specific needs and promote innovation-driven initiatives.

Vinnova is a government agency under the Ministry of Climate and Enterprise. As the national contact authority for the EU framework programme for research and innovation, Vinnova is recognized as the Swedish Government's expert authority in innovation policy. With approximately 240 employees, their head office is in Stockholm, with affiliates in Brussels, Silicon Valley, and Tel Aviv. Vinnova identifies areas where their efforts can drive societal impact and collaborations to address important challenges. Their support enables companies and organizations to experiment and test new ideas, investing approximately SEK 3.5 billion annually in research and innovation. Vinnova is highly involved in the development of new technologies in the automotive sector by funding several R&D projects, e.g., development of radar technology and vehicle cyber security.

As a partner of the 2024 Sweden-US Autotech Program, Vinnova plays a role as one of the key contributors to the funding of the program.
